Today I’m bringing you a tag post, which I’m very excited about. I was tagged in this by Phoenix @ Books With Wings and it comes at a perfect time since I had nothing planned and this is a post I can write without prior preparation! This tag is all about favourites, so it might be a struggle to answer some of these questions, but I’ll try my best.
1) What are 1-3 of your favorite books of all time?
A Dowry of Blood is a new addition to this category, but lately I’ve been feeling like it’s a new favourite. I won’t be 100% sure until I reread it, but as for now, I’m choosing it as one of these top three.
2) What are 1-3 of your favorite authors of all time?
I always find this question hard too answer because I don’t think I have a favourite author. They’re usually hit and miss. However, there are some authors that I’ll read pretty much everything they write. These are Cassandra Clare, Rick Riordan, and Madeline Miller.
3) Who is your favorite female character of all time?
Although I’ve read about many fantastic female characters that I’ve love, saying anyone other than Tessa Gray from The Infernal Devices feels wrong. It’s been her for many many years. She’s a character that I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving.
4) Who is your favorite male character in a book?
A few years ago I would have said Will Herondale without hesitation, but I’ve read lots more since then. These days I would have to say Jesper Fahey or Adam Parrish. I’d probably choose one or the other depending on my mood. Today I’m going with Jesper from Six of Crows.
5) What is your favorite mythical world?
This post already feels like an ode to Shadowhunters but the truth is that I love that universe more than any others. I don’t think it can be fully considered a mythical world, but I’m going with it anyway. I’ve been reading these books since I was a teenager and denying their obvious impact on me would be pointless.
6) What book has your favorite cover?
This is a hard one as there are so many different styles of covers that I adore. Lately I’ve been into more minimalist, often white, book covers. So I’m choosing Donna Tartt’s The Secret History.
7) What is your favorite book-to-movie adaption?
8) If you could make any book into a movie, what would it be?
I would love to see Perfect on Paper on the big screen. I think it’d be a very fun teen film and it would spread a fantastic message on sexuality and acceptance!
9) What was your favorite childhood book?
Hands down, the Geronimo Stilton books! These books were so much fun, I had—and still have—a bunch of them. I used to devour these in no time and it might have been the series that first got me interested in reading.
10) Fantasy or Sci-fi? (Or neither?)
Definitely fantasy. I’m actually not interested in sci-fi at all. I love fantasy settings and worlds but as soon as there’s something futuristic, mentions of space or anything of the sort I lose interest. I think all that dystopian reading in the early 2010s saturated me and I still haven’t recovered.
As always, you don’t have to do it, but I’d love reading your answers!
