Tell me something about this world that you admire
Well, since I’m completely in love with languages, I’d say that something I truly admire is people who can speak several. I just think it’s a fantastic way to broaden your view of the world and of different cultures, as well as a way to get to know yourself and how your brain works. It’s just fascinating, okay? I’m extremely jealous of polyglots, and doing my absolute best to be one of them (I’m fluent in three languages and studying another three, so not bad, right?).
What is your favourite form of creativity?
Recently I got into sewing, and I’ve been enjoying that a lot. I love coming up with designs and attempting to create everything from scratch. I try to make my own patterns — with the help of youtube tutorials, my saviours — then I cut them and I try assembling the piece. So far I must say it’s gone pretty great for a beginner. There’s obviously been a few mishaps, but that’s part of the process.
I nominate:
Please do not feel like you need to do it if you don’t feel like it, but I’d love to read your answers!
- Morgan @ Morgan is Reading Again
- Zoë @ Reading by the Moonlight
- Shannen @ Rekindled Bibliophile
- April @ Booked Till Midnight
- Sofii @ A Book. A Thought.
- Bella @ Rainstorm Reads
- Amy @ A Fangirl’s Opinion
My questions:
- Do you have any role models that inspire you?
- What is a skill that you would like to improve?
- Are you a mood reader or do you have strict TBRs?
- What is the one aspect of a book that usually stands out to you?
Share something you created
This is the last thing I finished: a top from an old pair of overalls that I hadn’t worn in years. Don’t look too closely because it’s nowhere near perfect, but I like how it turned out.
Trisha’s questions:
Where do you come up with ideas for your beautiful posts/original stuff? Is there anything specific that inspires you?
Not really, I just have a need to talk about the stuff I like, sometimes to the point of being annoying (I’m eternally sorry to my friends and parents). I’m pretty new on the blogsphere so there are plenty of topics I want to talk about. Also, like so many others, I’m a fan of lists, so obviously that’s a good starting point for any post about recommendations of any kind, or anything, really.
Do you read books all at once (like binging) or a little everyday? On that note, do you read more than one book at a time? If yes, how do you differentiate between stuff/handle it?
It really depends. I try to read a little everyday or a few days a week, whatever I can manage and feel like. But sometimes I’ll get so hooked on a book I’ll end up binging it. Also, I am the worst at reading more than one book at a time, I’ve only been able to make it work a few times. Usually, I’ll just end up sticking to one book and putting the other ones on hold until I finish the one. However, when I’ve managed it, it was usually because I was reading in different formats. For example, I was reading an ebook which I’d read in bed, a physical copy which I would usually read after lunch while chilling, and an audiobook which I reserved for when I had other stuff to do that didn’t allow me to sit down and read.
How are you doing with the pandemic? Is there anything specific you do for comfort, like comfort food? (I start eating literally anything if I’m nervous)
Not great, but it could also be worse, which I think is the case for the majority of us. I don’t really have a comfort food though. My way to cope with it has been to keep myself as busy as humanly possible.
Tell me about one of your blogging habits that’s uncommon or something you think is unusual! (I don’t have a graphic system in place and literally everyone else does and I keep wanting to something about that then I get lazy and realise I’m actually not good at that stuff….please tell me if you have tips I need help)
I’m mostly winging it so far… Sorry, I’m not much help here 😂

Lovely post, Maria, thanks so much for doing the tag! I loved reading your answers, especially with the different formats; I do that too! I’ll have one book being read on my phone, one on my laptop, one on my kindle, and maybe another audiobook too! A few days back I was reading some 5 books at once, but it was more reading stuff alternate days than reading them all at once. ❤

Exactly haha, I must have a physical separation of the different books or it just won’t work.

Thank you Aisling! I speak Catalan and Spanish (was brought up bilingual like everyone here), and obviously English. And I’m currently studying Korean (I started about a year ago already), Italian, and Japanese!

This is such a nice award, it’s really unique. Thanks so much for nominating me! 🥰 And I love your questions!
I agree with your first answer!! And that’s amazing that you’re fluent in three languages (I already saw which ones in the comments, so I’m not going to ask. 😁)
I’m only fluent in two (Hungarian and English), and I’m currently learning Spanish with a friend. It’s a beautiful language, but quite hard to learn without a teacher. 😅 We started it this year, and it kept us busy, which is good. I’d love to learn Korean (and maybe Japanese and a North European language too, maybe Finnish or Swedish), but I don’t want to study more than one language at once. How do you do it, lol? 😂 I studied German for two years in elementary school and I didn’t like it, to be honest. I also gave up on French, I only studied it for half a year. 😅 It sounds gorgeous, but the grammar made no sense to me.
Sorry for this extra-long comment on languages, hope you don’t mind. 😂

God no, don’t apologise, I love to talk about languages! I can imagine Spanish is quite hard with no prior knowledge of a romance language! Hungarian looks so cool, but also extremely difficult, I’d love to dabble on it!
I take one-on-one Korean lessons, since this is my first priority. Japanese is really similar to it so I’m trying to do it on my own, but to be quite honest I’ve been neglecting it a bit. As for Italian, I’ve just started recently, but since it’s a romance language like Spanish and Catalan it’s quite easy for me!
I also gave up on German because I took it in high school and it sucked the enjoyment right out of it. As for French, I’d love to learn it, and I don’t think it’d be too hard for me because once again, romance language heh!

A lot of people say it’s really difficult, especially because it doesn’t look and sound like any other language. Obviously, I can’t judge it, as I grew up with it, so… 😂
Oh yes, Spanish is hard too! You’re lucky that you can easily learn romance languages because of it! 😁
One-on-one sounds like the best way to study Korean. So amazing! Do you watch k-dramas too? I learnt a few words from them. 😅

I’ve watched some k-dramas, and honestly they’re a great tool, especially the contemporary ones!

Thank you for the tag! I loved this post, some really interesting questions and I loved reading your answers.
Honestly, I’d also love to be able to speak many more languages. The UK education system is so bad for learning languages so you really have to do it in your own time 😦 So impressed that you speak 3 languages and are learning more! ❤

Can’t wait to read your answers!
Actually, it’s the same here, learning languages in school is almost impossible. At least, that’s been my experience. I’ve never been able to rely on school to learn a language, which is honestly just sad 😢 And thank you, I was lucky to have been born in a place where bilingualism is inevitable and language learning has always been lots of fun for me!

Thank you so much for tagging me! I loved reading your answers! It’s awesome that you know/are learning so many many languages! I’d love to learn more as well, but I can never get languages to stick in my brain when I study them in school. The top you made is also super cute! I’ve always wanted to learn how to sew.

I totally get it, at least here in Spain, the educational system doesn’t work for languages sadly… And thank you! I’ve only got into it recently and I’m really enjoying it!

It’s great that you like learning languages, it’s super awesome, at the moment I only speak Spanish, which is my native language and English, but I would love to learn German, I’m in the process of learning and I LOVE it, it’s just a bit difficult 😅.
I hope you have a beautiful month 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you so much for the tag! I love your questions, and I can’t wait to answer them soon! I’m so jealous that you can speak THREE languages, that’s amazing, and I’d give anything to speak another language fluently. I’m fascinated by language and translation, and I’m trying my best at the moment to improve my French!
Also, can we take a moment to appreciate that top, it’s adorable!! You are so creative, and it’s lovely learning more about you! 🥰
